# Use LP Agent in Cursor

> Add LP Agent to Cursor once, then ask about your positions in plain words

Once LP Agent is added, you can ask Cursor things like "how are my positions doing?", and it answers from your own LP Agent account.

You add LP Agent once by its address and sign in: there is no token to copy.

## What you need

* Cursor.
* An LP Agent account with an agent wallet.

## Add LP Agent to Cursor

**1. Add LP Agent**

Add LP Agent to `~/.cursor/mcp.json` to use it everywhere, or to `.cursor/mcp.json` in a project to use it there only:

```json theme={null}
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lpagent": { "url": "https://mcp.lpagent.io/mcp" }
  }
}
```

If the file already has other servers, add the `lpagent` entry next to them.

**2. Connect your LP Agent account**

In Cursor's MCP settings, find LP Agent and sign in to it. An LP Agent page opens in your browser. Sign in if it asks, choose **Read & trade** or **Read only** and how long, then press **Allow**. The page names the app **Cursor / Grok Bot**: the two sign in the same way.

**3. Ask Cursor**

Open a new chat and ask "What's in my LP Agent account?".

> [!WARNING]
>
> Press **Allow** on the LP Agent page only if you just connected LP Agent in Cursor yourself. If a link to that page reaches you any other way, press **Cancel**.

## Good to know

* **Before it moves money**, read what Cursor is about to do (pool, amount, range, copy size) before you say yes.
* **Prefer a token?** Cursor also takes an [access token](/lp-agent-mcp#access-tokens): add `"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer lpat_YOUR_TOKEN" }` next to the `url`.
* **Disconnect**: in LP Agent, open **Settings > Account > Access tokens** and press **Disconnect** next to Cursor / Grok Bot.
