# Create a Position

> Zap into a pool from a single token, pick your range and strategy

Open a pool from the [Pools](/features/pools) page. The panel on the right is where you add liquidity. Positions are opened from your [agent wallet](/account-and-wallet#your-agent-wallet), so there is no wallet popup.

    ### 1. Deposit

    * **Zap In** (default): pay in SOL only. LP Agent swaps what the range needs.
    * **Both Tokens**: put in each token yourself. A **Swap** button next to each token helps you get the other side.

    Type an amount in SOL (or USD with the **\$** toggle), use **HALF** or **MAX**, or press a preset: **0.1 SOL**, **0.5 SOL**, **1 SOL**, **5 SOL**. Presets bigger than your balance are greyed out. The sliders icon lets you edit your presets (up to 6).

    **Token Distribution** sets how your SOL is split between the two tokens, 50/50 by default. When your range sits entirely on one side of the price, it locks: a range below the price is 100% SOL (no swap needed), a range above the price is 100% token.

    ### 2. Strategy (DLMM)

    How your liquidity is spread across the price bins in your range:

    | **Spot** | Even spread | A steady price |
    | **Curve** | Focused mid-range | A tight, sideways market, more fees near the price |
    | **Bid-Ask** (default) | More at the edges | Catching swings, buying dips and selling pumps |

    The preview chart shows exactly how your liquidity will sit around the current price.

    ### 3. Price Range

    Pick a preset or set it yourself:

    * **±5%** (default), **±10%**: bracket the current price.
    * **-50%**, **-70%**: the whole range sits below the price. This is a one-sided, SOL-only position that buys the token as the price falls.
    * Type **Min Price** and **Max Price**, step them by 1%, or drag the lines on the chart.

    The panel shows how many bins your range covers. Your range is fixed when you open the panel and does not follow the live price.

    ### Costs before you confirm

    The summary shows the SOL needed, the **position rent** (refundable when you close) and any **new price bin rent**. If you are the first LP in some price bins of this pool, Meteora charges a one-time rent to open each one, and it stays with the pool after you close. Narrow your range to avoid it.

    Press **Create Position**. When it lands, the position appears on your Portfolio a few seconds later while it syncs from the chain.

      DAMM v2 pools use a simpler form: type an amount of SOL and press **Create Position**. There is no strategy or range to set; the SOL is split by the pool's ratio.

    ### 1. Deposit

    * **Zap In** (default): pay in **ETH** or **USDG**, and LP Agent splits it across the pair. The default is your **Base Token** from Settings. You never need WETH; it shows as ETH. When you pay in ETH, a little is kept back for gas.
    * **Both Tokens**: deposit both tokens as they are, with no swap. Anything that doesn't fit your range comes back to you.

    Use **HALF**, **MAX** or the ETH presets (**0.01**, **0.05**, **0.1**, **0.5 ETH**).

    ### 2. Price Range

    * **±5%** (default), **±10%**: bracket the current price. The narrower the range, the more fees you earn while the price stays inside it.
    * **-50%**, **-70%**: one-sided, below the price. It only starts earning once the price falls into it.
    * Custom **Min Price** and **Max Price**, in USD per token, on the same scale as the chart. You can drag the lines on the chart too.

    Prices snap to the pool's tick spacing.

    ### 3. Confirm

    The confirm card shows your **Swap slippage** (the gear opens Settings), **You deposit**, **Price range**, **Current price** and **Signed by: Your agent wallet**. Press **Zap In**.

## Tips

* Each new position is charged 0.1% of the amount you put in. See [Fees](/fee).
* Turn on **Auto TP/SL** in [Settings](/features/settings) to give every new position a take profit and stop loss automatically, or set them per position. See [Take Profit & Stop Loss](/features/take-profit-stop-loss).
* Want to start from someone else's setup? Press **Copy** on a row in **Positions In Pool** to load that position's range and strategy into the panel.
